Can I use iPhone 3G cases on my old iPhone?

I am saving up for a 3G but I still really want a case for my original one. Is it possible to fit an old iPhone in a new 3G case such as the incase slider?

Save your money for your iPhone 3G, unless you still use the old iPhone for reasons unknown to me.
I would drop the old iPhone. Drop as in get rid of (lol)
No you can’t use the same case because the iPhone 3G is slightly thicker and has a tapered back unlock the 1st Gen iPhone.
Tapered means that it’s rounded.
